Amaran is a biographical action-drama film from the Tamil film industry in 2024, in which Sivakarthikeyan will enact the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan-an Indian Army officer who gave up his life during an anti-terrorism operation in the year 2014 by Kashmir. It is also the production of Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International under Sony Pictures Films India on 31 October 2024, which coincides with the Diwali festival.
The movie is based on the life of Major Mukund, who had exhibited professional bravery and personal challenge in his life. In the lead role is Indhu Rebecca Varghese, Mukund’s wife, played by Sai Pallavi, whom Mukund has a soft affair with, unlike the intensity in the battlefield. Key moments in the film have been portrayed, like when Mukund spends quality time with his family and in heroic acts during the 2014 Qazipathri Operation that proved fatal for him.
The supporting cast features Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, and Shreekumar. The film’s technical crew consists of the ace cinematographer CH Sai and the editor R Kalaivanan. Music is done by G. V. Prakash Kumar, which should elevate the emotional quotient of the storyline.
